PR-SCS is a user-friendly and comprehensive database of the Pearl River Delta – South China Sea offshore continuum designed to provide an integrated platform for experimentalists, field investigations, and modelers to obtain data on hydrology, water quality, biodiversity, and their host and ambient environment. The main objectives of PR-SCS include: (1) compiling and integrating ecological data from the Pearl River estuary, mangrove wetlands, and South China Sea offshore areas to provide a unified and reliable reservoir; (2) providing an intuitive and user-friendly interface to enable users to search and visualize continuum data efficiently; (3) establishing a platform to facilitate collaboration and data sharing among researchers in the field of coastal ecosystem science.

The Pearl River Delta – Mangrove – South China Sea offshore continuum describes the complete ecological gradient from the Pearl River system, through the estuarine mixing zone, across mangrove wetland ecosystems, and into the South China Sea offshore waters.
Tracking the transport and transformation of nutrients and pollutants from terrestrial sources to the ocean; studying the connectivity and ecological functions of estuary-wetland-marine biological communities.
